Upon my arrival to India, i’ve spent a lot of my time with sadhus. I have immense respect for all the sacrifices they do in their pursue for inner freedom.
I have found incredibly dignified human beings that allow me to live, learn, and travel with them for over 5 years in their never ending journey.
These series is about the Naga sadhus, gathered in Varanasi after Kumbh Mela of 2019 of Prayagraj.
The Naga sadhus are considered as an army of saints and the defendants of the Hindu faith. Warrior monks well trained in weapons and wrestling. They live a very arduos lifestyle of celibacy with an extreme yoga practice, living most of their time on the mountains and forrest of the Himalayas under extreme conditions, completely naked covered with ashes. Their only approach with society is during Kumbh mela and few days after as when this series was taken. They are eccentric, emotional, intelligent, powerfull, extremely volatile, fascinating human beings.
